Learn the art of film making and editing in our Film Production workshops. Our workshops cover everything from personal projects to documentaries.

Workshop Description

The Film Production/Editing program gives students an opportunity to gain knowledge on video production, and film editing using industry standard equipment. Certified Final Cut Pro instructors will use an interactive training method to instruct the students. This hands-on approach gives students a chance to learn directly behind the camera and in front of the editing window.

Workshop Description

The Website development program teaches students the basics of web design; including HTML and CSS coding, Flash, and Photoshop. Each student will learn how to design and develop their own websites from scratch.

The PHR Network provides Powell House Project participants with internship opportunities to employ the skills and training gained through Powell House Project programming, and apprenticeship program.

They are provided with job titles and specific responsibilities that include but are not limited to; working directly in the initial sales presentation and establishment of client accounts, submitting and managing blog content, developing marketing strategies, planning and hosting promotional events, conducting interviews with businesses featured on the site, and providing customer service and administrative support. Upon completing this internship, all participants will have an opportunity to become paid associates with growth potential at one of our business consortium partners.

SATURDAY APPRENTICE

As a Powell House Project apprentice, you will be able to determine the business technology field in which you would like to pursue a career. We provide you with an employer (from our consortium of business partners) who will hire you and agree to train you as an apprentice. You learn the skills of your trade by working closely with a skilled professional in that business, and for the work that you do after the training period, your employer pays you a wage that will increases with your skill level over the length of your apprenticeship.
